VITALITY

Human body is made up of five elements (Body, Breathing, Mind, Intellect and the Soul). Primarily these five elements are protected by food. The vital strength (forces belonging to life) require intake of food for their existence.

Food is recognized to be the ultimate source of all energy. Food is what drives existence, and restores energy. The life-energy in the body, created by the food we take, is what makes working and sense organs function.

Keep the body relaxed and happy...by healthy exercise, balanced diet and good posture, one's body would be in a resourceful state. With the resourceful body our energy levels would be high and our actions could be filled with vitality.

Food being the most important element for survival; it is our duty and responsibility towards every empty stomach to get enough of it. We must try to put food into the mouths of the starving.

Generosity obtains wealth and duty obtains salvation. The generosity would win, hands down. Generosity is always vital. It is vital to be generous in affluence, in thinking and action which keeps us mentally peaceful.

Serving food to fight starvation is supposedly, the greatest form of charity. One who serves or gives food to others, everywhere he lives happily.

Starvation is horrible. Starvation causes anemia, body emaciate, feebleness, weak-heart, mind becomes dull, deprives from speech and shrinks longevity. Eventually causes any illness.

Physical factors include anemia, low body fluids, possible dehydration, low body weight, dry skin, constipation, weak lungs and kidneys.

There will be difficulty with standing dryness and heat. There will be emotional moodiness, depression and negativity. The mind may be cloudy, dull or disturbed.

Food gives secure feeling and glow to the body. Food not only sustains the body but also controls the quality of the mind.

The purpose of food is to increase the duration of life, purity of mind and aid bodily strength. Such foods are juicy, fatty, wholesome and pleasing to the heart. – Bhagavad-Gita

A man who is inflicted by hunger knows neither taste nor preparation.

Hunger can bring distress. Hunger is the need for food. The more he eats while hungry, the more he feels satisfaction that gives him strength.

The hungry is the fit recipient of the gift of food. – Kanchi Swami

Food prepared happily is delicious, and consumed with contentment, keeps our body more healthy that brings good thoughts.

The food we take turns into our physical strength and state of mind.

The foods which promote life, vitality, strength, health, joy and cheerfulness, which are sweet, soft nourishing and agreeable are dear to the good.

Foods that are too bitter, sour, salty, hot, sharp biting, dry and burning cause distress, misery by reducing the mucus in the stomach, leading to disease. – Bhagavad-Gita

People suffer due to over eating and over indulgence. They suffer due to excessive or extravagant actions and deeds. Sometimes passion and ego rule our actions.

For a person who has desire for the objects of the world, any object will seem to be good or bad depending on whether he sees it as a source of his joy or sorrow. We forget ourselves in joy and drown ourselves in sorrow.

The illusory energy is manifested in the duality of will and unwilling, desire and hate.

Desire is the cause of action. Ignorance is the cause of desire. Ignorance is removed by knowledge. Therefore sorrow is rooted out only by knowledge. – Bhagavad-Gita

Ignorance is the cause of sorrow. The lesser the desires, the lesser your sorrows.

We usually depend on what we learn from all our senses before making a decision but there are times when we try to interpret what is seen or felt in the light of preconceived notions and reach a false conclusion.

Perception allows us is to make meanings, draw inferences and take appropriate actions. It also arouses emotions.

Unsteady mind take quick decisions. Uncontrolled mind is thoughtless. It is always good to disagree with thoughtless decisions.

To control the mind, control your thoughts. Cultivate independent thinking, your inner true self will not be affected by the outside world.

One who goes blindly by what others say becomes restless. Accept everything without attachment or aversion.

Attachment and aversion are rooted in the senses, towards their objects. One must not come under their sway. They are indeed one's foes.

There are only five sources of misery: Sleeping or dormant(invisible and subtle), feeble(physical body, the food we eat), when one of them dominates, when a craving is present, aversion is also present, as is fear, but in the back ground.

Among these five things, when ignorance is present, you are not even aware of craving and aversion. You are totally caught up in the situation.

Attachment with love and affection gives happiness; Attachment with desire, in need is weakness or selfishness, causes misery.

Practice of meditation and by dispassion(control), makes these five sources of misery seem less. – Ravi Shankar, Art of living

Ignorance has no beginning. Ignorance is thinking that which is changing as non-changing. you try to control others mind, but you can't control yourself. Dispassion develops from discrimination. Firm dispassion should be acquired by means of discrimination.

Four causes of physical miseries: illness and age; excessively self-obsessed with things, duty, power and authority; undesired thing, person, duty and responsibility; to give up extremely desired thing, person, duty and responsibility. – Mahabharata

Duty and responsibility helps to balance your material life with fulfillment and happiness.

Restoring to extreme, consuming excess of food or very poor food habits, create problems and health complications to you and others also. Problems rule only weak people.

Physical health is affected because of suffering, grief, and anguish. Because of difficulties and misery, only disagreeable situations arise.

Gradually you lose your health, self-confidence, thoughts of joy and happiness.

Medicine is the first remedial measure for the alleviation of human suffering. Good medicine alone cannot cure a disease without proper diet. Medicine and proper diet are both equally important.

Some physical deformity, illness and disability makes one generally miserable. Physical disability is always better than mental illness.

All of us experience some form of stress or stressful thoughts in our day-to-day lives, and face several ups and down in the course of life. In daily life, man is caught in fearful circumstances and confronted with formidable obstacles.

Mind is faster than the wind. Thoughts grow more than the grass. - Mahabharata

The attraction to a pleasant experience results in craving. Obsession is constantly holding and hanging on, or not coming out of desired object.

In obsession no one is satisfied and nobody will be satisfied. Obsession leads to only misery.

Leave and give up the duty that is continuously in contrary to your thinking, that is in total domination or obsession. To be obsessed is worse than death.

Duty and responsibility to work may be most important, but it shouldn’t take over your life completely.

Earning money and possessions is not only and end of all life.

Instead of relying on your personal desire and perversity, and only on own capacity, have strong faith in God.

Do your prescribed duty happily and rely on God. With his divine influence, HE changes all difficulties into a blessing.

Mother looks after physical well-being, provides material things. Mother nature is sensitive; a female thinks with her heart, brood over past events or experiences.

Father thinks about duty and responsibility. Father nature and a male thinks with his head, worry about those in the future.

Gloom and anxiety is largely seen everywhere more than the Grass. People always live in the past either think of the future. It causes illness.

Illness, hurt, sorrow, fear from spirits, failure, misery of the past and anxiety about the future. Fear is caused by our absorption in the illusory energy. Fear of Death is the greatest fear, one experiences on the earth.

All exists in the mind. Mind is deluded by duality and it is joined with ten organs. Five sense organs and five limbs or working organs.

The mind is a powerful organ that can create disease. Thoughts influence all body organs. Constant thought of one's troubles preys upon your heart. The circumstances and events, chronic illness can cause depression. Depressed people are more prone to ailments than those who remain happy.

Anxiety and mental illness slowly deteriorates a living man. A light heart lives long. Gladness rhymes with sadness. Mirth(gladness) is nature's medicine.

Mental illness causes because of ATTACHMENT. Too much attachment causes numerous diseases. Have care not attachment. It is better to ignore intense and uncontrolled things. It is waste of vital energy.

Physical body is constantly changing. It becomes weak and sick. A sickly body subject to pain binds the mind to itself and its suffering, and does not allow it to rise to the plane of thought and meditation.

Lack of physical strength also brings fear, anger and anxiety. Yet mind remains unchanged, it becomes more and more strong.

Think patiently, make yourself clear to reduce pain, suffering and generally something unpleasant and get on with your life. Nothing keeps people down forever. Change your vision towards life. Have faith in change, the right change at the right time can solve simply anything.

If you shed tears when you miss to see the Sun, you miss to see the Stars. –Ravindranath Tagore

Unless you are able to ‘light up from within’, the causes for discontent is addressed, there is no cure to the illness and lost vitality.

Good health is fortune. Peace of mind is happiness. Let living be a moment of happiness.

One who does not hold anger, has no hatred for others which troubles his body or cause anguish to his mind, he is never overcome by evil and fear. –Bhagavad-Gita

Always think about something good, and beautiful creations. Everything original has some smell, some fragrance and some taste.

A creative person could design his own. Something different would reflect the individual personality.

The physical nature in the human body is constantly changing. Try to take better food and some form of activity, that is beneficial for physical and mental well-being.
