GLORY

Existence, Consciousness, Bliss.

All actions happen through the consciousness. Just as fish swim in water, we are moving about in a subtle field of energy called consciousness. Knowledge of pure consciousness makes us realise that the entire universe is nothing but consciousness. This world moves because of consciousness.

Life is full of bliss. One experiences this bliss by letting go of all impressions, cravings and aversions, by becoming dispassionate.

You can attain bliss only if you try to put your knowledge into practice.

A child is completely cared for by his parents, and thus his position is secure. He is happy. – Bhagavad-Gita

Mental strength increases by peaceful surroundings, supportive environment of family and friends. Self-contentment increases with caring mother, friendly father, and affectionate brothers and sisters.

One who has no parents from his childhood, his heart aches more for parents love. The loss of security known with the parents, especially the mother. She's crystallised in every tear drop. He finds fulfillment in rendering his service more to old and elderly people.

As a well wisher he is generous, and devoted to the cause of everyone’s welfare, but much priority given to younger people. Life favours young at heart. He'll be tenderly concerned with relatives who are ill, financial emergencies in the family, and the difficulties of his friends and neighbours.

One who is generous within relatives and friends, kind within servants, discreet (selectivity) within hypocrisy, affectionate within good people, morality within kings, honesty within scholars, courage within enemies, humility within preceptors and firm within women/men, endure to remain in this world.

You do not have to be a man or woman in every aspect of life; you can just function as a human being.

When physical strength was determining life, it is only natural that the masculine would dominate. Now that technology has leveled things, whether you are male or female, your physical strength is no more the deciding factor as to how far you can go.

Beauty, strength, wealth, fame, knowledge and renunciation are the six opulence. – Bhagavad-Gita

Voice is beauty to a cuckoo(or sky-lark), chastity is beauty to a woman, education is beauty to a man(or even with disability), tranquillity(peace of mind) is beauty to a saint.

Some people no matter how old they get, never lose their beauty - they merely move it from their faces into their hearts.

Appreciate beauty in others. Love is beauty. Love lies in our own hearts. Love is not measured by excessive emotion. Love is faith. A woman’s place is inside her man’s heart. A chaste woman has affection for her husband. The wife loves her husband as he loves her in return.

Education gives humility, by humility one becomes worthy, the worthy one earns wealth, with wealth one becomes righteous, and a righteous person is happy.

By vision, by meditation and by touch, only do the fish, the tortoise and the birds maintain their off spring. - Bhagavad-Gita

Home represents emotional security, it is built with hearts. We can all enjoy being at home. Really, home is all about is emotional security, feeling that we are loved. Home is a place where we play, live, love, dream and feels save. Pure ecstasy.

A child cries for its mother, which is the real comfortable place. One who is possessive cry a lot and hurt inside deeply. He who is really hurt doesn't talk.

Fish feels at home in cool and shaded waters. Water, that is too pure has no fish. It is a surprise that the fish in the water is thirsty(for peace and happiness). The wisdom of tortoise teaches us that life is not only beautiful but also precious. Little birds in their nests agree. Bird, which makes a cheerful chirping sound. And how birds suspends itself in the air.

The manifestation of the Subtle body, mind, ego and intelligence: Sky(space) is biggest of all the things. The sky(kah) due to its subtle nature does not mix with anything, although it is spreading every where. Happiness(Su) and distress(Du) constantly changes, still sky remains the same. – Mahabharata

Voice or sound of any kind, thoughts, vacuum(emptiness, space without air), illusion and doubt; these five are sky(space, ether) qualities.

Vayu is Kham(ether), finer than ether is mind, finer than mind is intelligence, finer than intelligence is false ego, and finer than false ego is the soul.

We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts we make the world.

The mind is like an ocean, when the mind is active with thoughts, it is similar to the waves crushing on the beach. Without thoughts, it would be just the horse, the mud beneath, the mountains around, the sky above and the river below. It is thinking that plays spoil below.

The wave depends on the ocean, but the ocean does not depend on the wave. The waves may dash against the mountain endlessly, but the mountain remains immovable.

Sky gives strength to birds, Water gives strength to fishes, King gives strength to helpless and the weak, and Weeping gives strength to children.

The primary stage of ego is materialistic conception, whatever manifestation exists is due to our ignorance in intelligence.

Blindness of the eyes is bearable and can be managed to a certain extent. But when you are blinded by the ego, you are completely blind. Don't let your power, position, name, reputation, wealth and possessions make you look down on others.

Ego is for personal identity. It is concerned with sense of individual identity. False ego is condemned, but not real ego. Ego clash effects perception. Perception alone is creation. There is no creation other than perception. Perception of a thing is its origination. Sensitive perception is rare in any field.

Anger, hatred, jealousy, fear and doubt are the five elements gross representation of the false ego. –Bhagavad-Gita

Intelligence, knowledge, freedom from doubt and delusion, forgiveness, truthfulness, control of senses, control of mind, happiness and distress, birth, death, fear, fearlessness, non-violence, equanimity, satisfaction, austerity, charity, fame and infamy.

Self-confidence, Self-discipline, Self-control, Self-satisfaction and Self-realisation are stages of the life.

Discipline, expansion and optimism are required for the stability and happiness in life. Optimism breeds enthusiasm, which in turn breeds confidence. Enthusiasm can never replace experience. In enthusiasm there should be patience.

Education makes people easy to lead, but difficult to drive, easy to govern, but impossible to enslave. – Henry Peter Brougham

In matters of learning and knowledge, one should always feel humble recognising the fact that there could always be persons more learned and experienced.

Knowledge and arrogance repel each other. Knowledge and humility agrees to go together.

There is nothing in the universe equal of knowledge in purity and perfection. Knowledge is of “Goodness”. – Bhagavad-Gita

Sense of happiness, knowledge, and self-discipline makes a man eminent.

Work is worship, duties should become sacred actions(deeds); acquire knowledge with self-discipline. Knowledge and duty are supreme.

Vedas is the basis(root) for knowledge, wife is the root for home, hard work is the root for paddy(food grains), and wealth is root for the world. The law of karma(action) as its foundation.

In regard of money matters, one should always feel he is better placed when compared to those less fortunate. When money is the only important thing, the masculine becomes the most dominant part of our social structure.

In the mode of passion he is engaged in activity. He owns as much as he can and spends for good causes.

Truth, generosity, human-effort, not to envy, patience and courage: are the six prescribed qualities man should not leave.

L-learn to respect, tradition, duty and responsibility.

E-earn to live, with discipline and dispassion.

A-attachment with love and affection.

D-desire with control and consciousness.

Strength is the glory of man, but it should be free from desire and passion.

Desire is born of passion and anger. Passion brings unlimited desires and longings. Desire is for self-gratification. When desire dominates, awareness of the Self will be at its lowest. It brings ego and delusion.

Anger is a wave of the mind. You cannot think clearly when you are angry because you lose your power of concentration. By anger man is deluded; by delusion he loses memory of what he really is; by the loss of memory, the power of discrimination is lost. - Gita

In this world no one can be fully happy or fully miserable, completely good or totally evil.

Passion brings ignorance(blindness) that removes intellect, and actions(karma) bring misery.

People in general are trapped by ignorance in the material conception of life, and they perpetually suffer material pains.

Desire, hatred, happiness, distress, aggregate an indication of disease, convictions, humiliation, difficulty, anxiety, fear or dissatisfaction.

Possessions bring happiness and contentment. Discontentment is real poverty; contentment is a real prosperity.

The body is made of senses, consists of the senses. The five sense organs: We perceive through our senses - eyes(sight), ears(hearing), nose(smell), tongue(taste), skin(sense of touch) and intellect are controlled by the mind.

Eyes are prominent organs of all the senses. Eyes provides sight. The eye of flesh can only see material things. Even physical ether is invisible to the naked eye. That the human eye is grossly erroneous in its perceptions can be seen from very simple facts.

If the senses and the mind wander through worldly objects, they destroy the discrimination, spirituality and Godliness of the aspirant. Even a single sense-organ is capable of pulling away the mind from the spiritual goal.

Three things to Admire; Beauty, Intellect and character.

Admiring a woman's beauty is one thing. The eye is not just a window nor is the ear a mere listening tube. Ear is your teacher. Sense of touch(skin) separates man from nature. Variety is the nature of the world.

The eye sees an attractive object and the mind thinks of it. The power of discrimination is lost. In fact, the eye is the most powerful cause of delusion for man. The eyes are the windows of the soul.

The beautiful pieces of architecture provides an aesthetic sense with its beauty and goodness. All greenery soothes our eyes and minds, with fresh air and chirping of birds.

Taste stimulates the tongue, music stimulates the ears, and sight stimulates the eyes.

Three things to control; Tongue, Temper, and Temptation.

The most important and uncontrollable sense is the tongue. Tongue is always moving, and has excessive desire than all other organs. If one can control the tongue, then there is every possibility of controlling the other senses. Use your tongue sensibly.

Tongue brings happiness and wealth, tongue brings relatives and friends together, tongue brings grief and confinement(or punishment), tongue brings disease and even death.

There is a saying that the tongue has no bone. It is unsteady. It says something today and tomorrow it may say something else. If you lose temper, you start losing everything in life.

Tongue is the organ of taste food or perceive flavour and vibrate speech. Salt is prominent of all the tastes. Consuming excessive salt brings disease.

There is a temptation for money. Temptation cannot touch the man. Who is awake, strong and humble. Who masters himself and mind the dharma(the quality of virtue).

Three things to watch; Speech, Behaviour and Action.

Speech brings expression to thoughts. Intellect gives thoughts. Speech is for self-expression. The manner of speaking characterises your personality. Language depends upon the culture.

Death and birth of those who are to be born; Fame, fortune(prosperity), delicate speech, memory, intelligence, firmness and patience(tolerance, forgiveness) are considered seven feminine opulence's. - GitaIf a person possesses all of them or some of them he becomes glorious. – Bhagavad-Gita

Firmness may not always success, and so skill becomes necessary in dealing with the powerful enemy(lust, anger, greed). Most skilled youth are intelligent, but not emotionally intelligent.

If the feminine has to really flourish, if it has to flow, we need to create a society where our values are more spread out to all aspects of life. When music, art, love, care, all these things are as important as economics, then woman has as much role or even more of a role in life than man. A home, a social structure, a nation, or humanity, as a whole is not complete unless the feminine also finds full expression.

If the feminine found a better expression on this planet, generally people would smile more, be a little happy, a little more loving; life would be a little more beautiful. The feminine is not trying to go anywhere; the feminine is happy where it is.

Femininity needn't be synonymous with culpability. Feminine is enticing, but womanly is deeper. We should never go beyond bounds in our glory. Where these virtues are, whether in men or women, all are qualities for the highest realisation.

The biggest strength that a woman has is her emotions, feelings, motivation and inspiration.

Women are not weak, they have also in them the Divinity that lifts them up to the plane of spiritual realisation. And wherever these qualities are found, there is the Lord. - Gita Makarandam

Silence is most important quality, by silence one can make progress very quickly. Silence increases longevity. Silence doesn’t mean that one should not speak.

Keeping silence when it is necessary to speak, speaking when it is absolutely unnecessary, these two indicate weakness in man. – Persian proverb

Silence brings rest to the body and mind. There is real silence when a human being withdraws from the noise in order to find peace in his inner sanctuary.

In all Vedas, the word OM called pranava, is a transcendental sound vibration, listening and singing of Vedic hymns, is for purification of senses. OM is the essence of Vedas.

Be empty of images, thoughts, and conclusions. This inner emptiness is joy. This is a new way of looking. Emptiness creates sound(music). Sound unites man with the God. Listening and singing music gives happiness, removes anger, increases longevity and brings peace of mind.

The air enters into water, mud and fire etc,. and whatever else is there, still it does not mix with anything. Water will merge with things.– Bhagavad-Gita

Spiritual ignorance or blind fear causes the superstitions, fear of evil spirits.

Ignorance causes lack of self-contentment, restless mind, ungrounded fear, suspicion, emotional instability, anxiety, inability to relate to other people, fear of intimacy, lack of friendliness and weak emotions.

Acquire success in your desire, and conquer your anger. Desire is to be conquered by dispassion, wrath by love, greed by discrimination and detachment.By discrimination, man should give up attachment to the body. Lack of emotion is detachment. - Gita

Anger has a place in life. But one must know how to handle it properly. Anger is natural energy that can add to our welfare or it can ruin us. It can ruin us if it overpowers us, but when we are in control, anger can be our stronger point.

When actions dominate, restlessness follows. One who is restless in mind, is thoughtless, he is unaware of the effect speaks excessively. He is constantly active, and will be in a hurry. If anything goes wrong, in anger impatience, having unknown for consequences accuse others.

A person who becomes angry easily is someone who generally does not have a great deal of self-awareness.

When stronger, more mature people force him or take things away from him, he reacts in the only manner he knows - yelling and causing so much disturbance, that people give in just to get peace.

Peace should begin from individuals and family. Tolerance and trust for tomorrow makes you to forget everything.

When a fight catches a man unaware, he may strike out blindly in confusion, or he may simply agree, to end the argument. Arguments are born of senseless and unreasonable fear of change. Laugh about something which is unpleasant or smile to make it seem less serious and go on your way.

Hatred and restlessness both are painful for himself and others also. - Herbert

Where there is more anguish than anger, more anger than confidence, more self-identity than self-respect, there appears to be a natural or causeless hatred in the minds of some people; which may come from the guidance they receive in their families. These things become part of their culture, and human values to which they attach importance.

He/She allows himself to be misguided by his own elders, or spouse to adopt an aggressive and domineering attitude towards his own people.

Hostile behaviour and actions are dominated by insecurity. Hostile attitude is constant threat to peace. Hostile criticism create unhappy feelings and misunderstandings, diverse people and damage relationships.

You have no enemies, and has nothing to learn from hostility. Thoughts, interests and tastes differ from one another. There are just some people whose desires and goals happen to conflict with yours.

Self-complacency and over-confidence should be avoided. Complacency is a vice, caution is virtue.

Frustration arising from non-fulfilment and anger encourage impulsive actions. Frustration can lead to arguments and fights which can spoil personal relationships. Learn to avoid unpleasant confrontations.

Pay attention to children and youth, and help them to become good human beings, healthy in mind, body and spirit.

Our youth need to realise that they can be creative and productive without losing the humanness they are all born with.

Diversity is in its roots. Unity in diversity is the plan of action. Morality is divergent, wealth declines. Morality and cooperation brings glory. Co-operation is the basis of life.

One has to face obstacles at every single step in his life to reach his cherished goals.

Once you have got success, do not hang on to the same thing. Satisfy and leave it, and expand to something new.

Hard experience alone could make one strong and firm. Every hard lesson learned makes a man wise and remembered for the future.

A candle burns itself to shed light. Burn impurities by selfless service to radiate the light of knowledge.

Mind is deluded with attachments. Attachment causes numerous diseases. Mind is disturbed out of fear, although he has no reason to fear.

Misery is caused by ignorance. Ignorance creates delusion, and man forgets his real nature. Delusion is the effect of ignorance. Ignorance is removed by knowledge.

Illusion causes darkness. Where there is no illumination, knowledge is absent.

There will be emotional moodiness, depression and negativity. The unrest mind may be cloudy, dull or disturbed. Gloom over past and worrying about future, but all that you worry about never happens.

Do not hurry, force others to think and work, like you. Hurrying things causes poor memory, confusion and perplexed. Too many words confuses the mind. Nothing is more confusing than the human opinions. He could not decide what to do and how to act. Confusion and absentmindedness brings laughter. Laughter always keeps us light inside and out.

A lazy neglects his duty and responsibility; even he has ability to work, doesn’t work hard. Laziness causes inertia to the mind. Laziness or impudence can spoil your efforts and lack of exertion can create new hurdles. An idle man’s brain is the devil’s workshop.

Comforts can make you lazy. Nothing comes from inaction. Work is superior to inaction. By inaction, even maintenance of body would not be possible.

Work in some form or other has to be done. All worldly gains have been acquired by hard work and constant application. All professions acquired perfection by practice.

The happiest careers are always those in which we would become involved by choice, even if we weren't paid. To work with love is a holy thing. Serving is better than not doing anything. One who serves others will usually remain loyal.

Ignorance causes illusion. Illusion is a blessing, it keeps us physically and mentally happy. In illusion, intuition and imagination develops. When it is used for good, it can bring out creative abilities.

See God in nature, appreciate beauty and divinity in creative works. When you are sensitive you can be truly creative. Combining unusual ideas is at the heart of creative thinking.

Overly emotional, one who is with over desire develops attachments to the objects of the senses in ignorance.

One who doesn’t possess patience and tolerance, brings great loss to others. Clarity of thought is totally absent and doesn’t think about effects, loss (of money), injury to himself and others. In the darkness of ignorance, he forgets his age, discrimination among age, genders and relations.

Action without knowledge is senseless(null, useless), action with knowledge is sensible, without seeing darkness of ignorance perishes; and he could see both sides, holiness and darkness quality to go.

Wealth finds no end for the greedy men. Greed, obsessive attachments, self-obsessed, fiercely protect themselves and those they love from hurt and instinct for survival springs from a deep-seated fear. Fear of failure, opposition and rejection. Desire attention, image of superiority and self-respect.

An unsatisfied Brahman, satisfied king one who protects(belongs to satisfy), a shy professional, and a shy-less house wife declines.

Kings and queens are born to give orders, not to follow.

Most people start out with ambitions for the future, enter a profession or career of their choice, work toward their goal - and eventually, after they've enjoyed a fair amount of time of achievement(and tucked away cash), they retire, and do as they please.

Services can progress but not profession. Service always comes before profit. Opposition in professional life irks you. Professional are the only source of ample(large enough) money and more benefits.

Helping others in performing their duties, and to support everyone who works hard, is obviously one’s duty.

A house wife, who wanders too far away from the home, fires too often may find herself without a husband to return to.

Craving for power and authority, captivating nature and rigid control on everything. Desires to rule the minds and hearts of the people, and to rule family and friends.

One who desires to stay in others duty always remains with fear and anxiety.

Tragic flaw is immense pride. Grumbling with loyalty and gratitude is unseen. Yearn for power and control, insist on receiving from family and friends.

Loyalty, trust and affection; these three are inseparable. Loyal(to family ties) spouse, loyal well-wisher, loyal employee leave an indelible and incredible mark on you.

Secret will and strong desire for earthy needs, calculated reason consumes their mind. Secretive by nature, they will be active behind scenes. People who are active behind the scenes always lead emotionally restless life.

Suspicious in nature behaves as reasonable people, desires divisive tendencies, create differences in friendship, frequent interference in family matters, distorts the truth, alienation from or alienate love and affection with speech and actions, to promote their personal interests.

Intelligence and knowledge when perverted causes gross destruction. – Bhagavad-Gita

One who does his duty(work) remains humble and who takes everything from others feels superior. "I am above everyone", the very thought of perfection(superior than everyone), makes people perverted and insane(inflict to harm others).

Evil thoughts brings blindness. Vindictive nature and violent actions, disturbs social peace and personal harmony.

Extremity, uncontrolled emotions and a faint heart brings only destruction. Destruction causes to ruin valuable things, pushes away fortune and drives away goodness. There is no realization about innocent lives. Life cannot continue for themselves and others.

One who abuses others, a lazy who doesn’t work, who is extremely greedy, who has extensive anger; these four persons are hard-hearted. Cast out, by class is more good than these four.

One who has extensive anger, never forgives a hurt or disrespect of anything. Secret enemy or Subtle foe is always dangerous.

By anger man is deluded; by delusion he loses memory of what he really is; by the loss of memory, the power of discrimination is lost; when intellect is lost, man is destroyed. – Gita Makarandam

Evil mind or envy makes a man to spoil an event, or to seize others growth, money and eventually shed others reputation in life.

Be determined not to curse anything out-side, not to lay the blame upon anyone outside, But stand up, lay the Blame on yourself. You will find that is always true. Get hold of yourself. - Swami Vivekananda

Falsehood and mystery would drag millions by the nose. Falsehood however can shrink any strength. Through falsehood destroys the sacrifice.

Mistaking the false for the true, and the true for the false, you overlook the heart and fill yourself with desire. See the false as false, The true as true. Look into your heart. Follow your nature.

It is good to forgive, but not to forget if you don't want to pay for somebody else's mistakes.

Image of something made small and inferior (reduction) so that the others appears larger and superior. Take it as a personal opportunity and silently walk away.

Accusation is heavier than a mountain. Accusation takes away the truth. Only accusation has strength to put restriction on human movements.

Censure and praise are mere vibrations of the air. Better to be raised than praised; mere praising is throwing down. – Sri Vidya Prakasanandagiri Swami

Honesty is beautiful, and deception is ugly. Where there is honesty, there is faith. Where there is no faith, there is accusation. Without faith no one can achieve anything great in any sphere of life.

Willingly offending is very much offensive. It is to hurt people emotionally, not physically. Unavoidable things throws a whole family into a state of nervousness and fear, and to adversity.

One who is harmless crushes within the family and friends are common. Just people suffer in silence.

In times of adversity, we should not yield to despondence. Adversity has its own advantages. It gives courage, determination and snubs one’s ego. But too much adversity is also a curse when we see before our own eyes the sufferings of those near and dear to us.

Casual attitude ignores. The casualty is the present. The present invariably gets no attention.

It is obviously not to lose self-control, and saying too much in the heat of the moment. Do not speak in anger, what you feel with a wounded heart, even if there is any provocation.

The two great movers of the human mind are the desire of good, and the fear of evil. - Samuel Johnson

A lesson learned is never forgotten from these people. When others are worn out, these people leaves helpless and keep going.

Several experiences with these people causes deep melancholy and lingering physical illness.

Do not lose your gentleness and kind heart in any circumstances. Compassion is an essential quality for well-being. It will help you through out your life.

Every individual have their own way and see the world you do. We all have different interests. Get along with everyone. Everyone has his thing, his special yearning. Each person dances to his own fiddle music, and individuality should respected.

Destruction causes to give birth to new creation or regeneration. There is no real destruction in Nature, apparent destruction brings new forms of life.

Everything is constantly changing. Nothing remains forever, and age takes away everything. Time wears down all things.

Basically sharing makes us feel stronger. The pleasure is with in and not without. Pleasures shared with others are increased and miseries are reduced. Gradually, You lose interest to share and forget to speak with others. In order to fully relax, one must be able to let go.

It is better to suffer than harming others. Physical health is affected because of mental attitude.

As far as disease and old age are concerned, everyone gets practical experience. No one wants to be diseased, and no one wants to become old, but there is no avoiding these. – Bhagavad-Gita

When age advances every individual goes back to their own childhood nature. Physical body under goes so many changes and become weak. But mind will not change, it remains same.

The memory of the blissful experience remains fresh in the mind even at the last moments.

The way to be happy is to let go and reach out. It is good thing simply to be alive with constant flow of spirits. Spirit is more than water, than earth, than sky and air. Soul consciousness lightens everywhere.

Spirit soul, situated in the heart of physical body, consciousness is illuminating the whole body. When the soul is present in the body, there is consciousness all over the body. – Bhagavad-Gita

One who works hard has no penury, who do meditation has no sin, who is silent has no quarrel, and who is awake has no fear.

To forget oneself totally, one’s mind should keep awake at every moment. A mind that has forgotten the past and the future, that is awake to the now, to the present, expresses the highest concentration of intelligence. It is alert, it is watchful, it is inspired.

The actions of a person who has such a mind are exceptionally creative and perfect. Verily to forget oneself totally, is to be in perfection. –Swami Chinmayananda

There is nothing on earth equal in purity to wisdom. Respect the wisdom of elders, evaluate sensibly and objectively.

Wisdom is rightfully attributed not to people who know what to look for in life but to people who know what to overlook.

Tolerance gives easiness to Live and Let-live; use it to promote peace and tranquility. Realize, everyone helps to make progress in their own way.
